Turbo 2013 Version |
I just recently saw the Veloster for the first time a few
weeks ago and it really had me scratching my head. It has an aggressive little stance to it that
makes it look like it would scream around the corners. If you look inside the instrument
panel seems just as unique as the exterior.
It has some pretty cool standard features. The interior comes
with a 7-inch high-resolution
touchscreen, Bluetooth hands-free phone
system with voice recognition, and three
doors. On the exterior there some nice
features like Dual heated power side mirrors, three doors, and chrome-tipped
exhaust. Not to shabby for a car under 20g.
As said there are three doors Yes three! There are two doors
up front and one in the rear. I really like that they gave you an extra door in
the rear. It does give you a lot more accessibility. However, if you are trying
to get more than one child or drunken friend into the car you are SOL. It would
be much easier to throw them in the hatch. (not
recommended for children)
Where the Veloster fall short is on horsepower and interior
room. It comes in either 128 hp 1.6 L engine or a whopping 138 hp 1.6 L engine.
For the size of the car it just does not provide the juice it needs to make you
say "That was Sweet!" They are planning 208 hp 1.6 L turbo charged engine
in 2013 that could give it the pep it needs.
As for the interior if you are under 6' tall you should be
good. After that you could be at war with the dash. If you are sitting in the
back you might as well get a taxi.
As much as I like this car and the cars Hyundai has been
producing over the past few years it is not for everyone. Take a look at it and
see if it meets you needs. I would buy this car over a Kia Soul any day of any
year but that's me. There is a link below to Hyundai's website if you would
like more info on the Veloster.
