Facebook for Android Update

The new Facebook update is out and it is a great overhaul to its predecessor.

You tell Facebook took the time and added many features that make you want to use their app. The two biggest updates come to speed and pictures.

Speed has always been an issue with the Facebook application on Android. With the new update it is noticeably quicker. If you are having a little speed issue it could only be attributed to a slow connection.

The update to the pictures is great. I had no issue uploading new pictures and the layout to do so is pretty simple. Viewing pictures is and adding likes is also simple. Simply click on a photo and it will pop-up into full screen. From there you will see a menu at the bottom to add a like or a comment.

NodeBeat for putting together some tunes

If you like putting together some tunes you might want to try Nodebeat. Nodebeat is a simple tool that lets you create your own beats in a simple creative way. It is available on Android and in IOS.

How it works is that you will have blank screen. On the left side you will have the notes that are in forms of circles such as the image shown. The main circle in the middle shoots out the beat. When it hits the other circle it produces a sound.

Each one of the colored circles represents a different type of sound. As you drag the circles further away from the main circle it will take longer for the beat to make a sound. So all of that goes into timing.

Angry Birds Space Review

Rovio continues to build upon their franchise with Angry Birds Space. It is hard to believe that they can still come up with new ideas on how to sling birds across your screen. With Angry Birds Space they came up with a unique way that works really well.

The concept of the game is pretty much the same. Sling the birds and kill the pigs. What is really awesome with the Space version is how the birds react in space. They will get grabbed by gravitational pull to swing around the androids to kill the pig. If you miss on the first try the birds will loop around until they hit their target or crash into an object. If you miss the gravitational field you bird will shoot off into deep space not to be seen again.

Rom Toolbox

If you have rooted your phone one of the must-have apps is ROM Toolbox. It takes many of the apps most rooted users will download and combines them into one. It almost sounds too good to be true but it does work well. In this article you will learn about some cool features of this application.

One of the biggest features is the ROM manager tool found in  ROM Toolbox. With this tool you will be able to install ROMs that you have downloaded to your SD card.  You can also back up your ROM or restore a previous ROM that you may have saved.

The app manager tool is pretty good at letting you know what apps are running in the background. Typically if you go into your settings and select running apps you get a list, but there are always some hidden ones. With the app manager you can see those hidden applications and shut them down. You can also delete applications that you would

Instagram for Android its coming (update 4/5/12)

If you have always wanted Instagram but did not have an iPhone your time is coming. Instagram is in the works to bring one of the most popular IOS apps to Android. It is long awaited and sure to be just as big of a hit on Android as it is on IOS.

If you are unfamiliar with Instagram it is a photo sharing app that lets you customize your photos before you share them. What happens is you take your photo, edit it, then post it. After you post it your friends on Instagram will be able to see your pics. You will also be able to post those pictures to Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, or foursquare. Being able to share on so many social networks has to be one of the reason it has been picked up by so many users.

Android Market = Google Play

Alright so many of you might have been confused due to the name change of the Google Market. So it is clear it is now Google play. Over the past year on the Android Market you may have noticed the introduction of movies, books, and music all together. The name change is to reflect that consolidation of those services, and to make Google reach out to everyone not just Android users.

All of the indvidual servise will run as they have been. You will still have the ability to load 20,000 songs to Google's Play Music. As for Movies you are only able to watch them on your computer or your phone if you downloaded an app and your Android Device. However, if you have an HD out

Quickpic Update

For those of you who use Quickpic for Android there was a great upgrade over the weekend. The interface changed a little but nothing dramatic. It might a few minutes to get used to it but I actually think it is a good change.

My biggest fear when I saw the update was performance. I was almost certain it was going to be slower but I was really wrong. Quickpic seems to be much faster and the tools seem to be a lot easier to use. If you have not heard about Quickpic read my previous post ->Quickpic Review from GadX

Customzie your Android device with ADW Launcher EX

If you are looking to customize you Android headset the best on the Market is ADW Launcher EX. There are so many options for you to choose from that you can truly make any phone you own. I really like using ADW and have been hooked since I figured out how to use it. I used to be a huge fan of LauncherPro however they kind of fell of the face of the earth and GO Launcher will eat away at your battery. As for  SPB shell 3D well if you get SPB you're not the smartest tool in the shed.

When you start out the first thing you're going to

SMS Back up + Back up your messages

Are you getting a new phone or do you have to do a factory reset? If you need to do either of the two and are worried about losing your text messages the best app to use is SMS Backup +. SMS Backup+ backs up your entire sms, mms, and call log to your Gmail account.

I really love this app because it is so easy to use. After you connect you simply back up your messages. What happens is that your messages get saved to your Gmail account. If you look under Labels in Gmail you will see  the label (SMS). Simply select it and you

Swiftkey X by far the best!

Are you tired of trying every keyboard on the android market only to find they are garbage? Well I am too! After testing out about a dozen different keyboards. I would have to say that Swiftkey X is by far the best keyboard out there. It just makes my life so much easier.

There are four different themes to choose from that are very clean looking. The layout is also great. When you first open Swfitkey X up the layout looks much like the stock keyboard. In fact some of the letters might look a little bit smaller. Even though they look smaller it is 100 times easier to type on this keyboard.

QR Codes strange looking symbols

I've noticed these strange looking little symbols all over the place lately, but until recently, I didn't know much about them.  They are called QR(quick response) codes, and have been described as "bar codes on steroids".

Originally developed by a Japanese company to track automotive parts, these little designs can store up to 4296 alphanumeric or 7089 numeric characters depending on the level of error correction applied(not sure what that means).

HDR Camera for some better pictures

Are you looking to take some better pictures with your phone? If so try HDR Camera on Android. It is a great way to capture images that just need a little more pop to them. Now I know there are a lot of camera apps out there and a lot of them simply suck. However HDR Camera does stand out from its peers.

With stock camera on your phone or many other camera apps you take a single picture for you result. So a lot of the detail from you photo might be missing. With HDR it takes three images and combines them to give you a pretty

Chrome Beta for Android

Finally my favorite browser comes to Android. I love Chrome on my desktop its is clean simple and easy to use. The same comes to Chrome beta for Android.

QuickPic for a faster Android Gallery

Would you like a good upgrade to the Android gallery? QuickPic might be one of the best alternatives. It is so much better than the stock gallery in Android that Google should really just buy them out. The interface is laid out much better and it seems to load a hell of a lot quicker.

When I rooted my phone and got rid of HTC Sense the gallery was one of two options I actually missed. QuickPic is very
